Bike ride

Today was the final Saturday for the Summer Streets program, where they essentially close Park Avenue from the bottom of the Brooklyn Bridge to 72nd Street and into Central Park. It was a gorgeous day. Our favorite sighting was the little doggie strapped into her bike seat (she had a seatbelt on) on the back of her owner’s bike. Her mom said that she didn’t like car rides anymore since they got the bikes. 🙂

Lisa at the beginning of the trail

Empty streets! Down near the beginning of the route, near the courthouse.

Park Avenue South, looking up at the MetLife Building and Grand Central Terminal

If you look closely you can see Lisa waving up in the middle of the road, near the top of the ramp

Awww! Lisa’s cutest thing ever, of the day. Little doggie strapped into her bike seat, enjoying the wind and the empty streets along with her owners.

She even smiled for the camera!

Our usual lunch spot along the Hudson River.

Free Tibet protestors. They’ve been going strong every week of the Olympic games.

Mistaken shot down at the Burgman, liked it anyway

Bike Saturday Encore

Today we again took advantage of the gorgeous weather and the summer street closure by taking a long ride. We decided to map it out tonight on Google Pedometer. Not a bad ride!
